The drive Back

Banff - Johnson's Canyon

Well, being stuck in banff was good fun. I went ice hiking into Johnstons Canyon. It was good fun and some wicked pictures! And here's some more pictures of the drive home after the weather cleared, it was awesome!

Glens last moments

Well, I thought this night would be a lot more eventful then it actually was, what happened here Glen?

Still all in good fun….

Getting ready for the road trip

Sunday morning we went for brunch and one last dip before having to load the car for Glens very long trip home. After loading the car and saying goodbye to everyone, Glen and I started our drive towards Banff and Calgary.

It was wet and raining so we didn’t even get to see the mountains, the whole point of my road trip. We stopped in Banff and did a bit of shopping and touring the town before the beloved Auzie went home. After about 2 hours we jumped back in my car, Starla and headed on the highway to Calgary. As glen had a smoke, we listened to some Australian comedian who makes prank phone calls???? Funniest thing I’ve ever herd… good on you mate.

In Calgary we met up with Carla and Haden for one last beer before hitting the airport, good times, but emotional. After getting lost in the airport terminal we finally found our way to the departures gates and this is where the trip with Glen ends. After a very long hug and a kiss, I had to let the boy go and leave him be to start his 3 ½ day trip back to Perth. Such a sad moment. I’ll miss you Glen!

Well… then I headed back to Courteny’s house to crash for the night since no one else seemed to be avaible, we had a good time, until morning rolled around, and Laura’s car stalled after about 30 seconds of driving. Uh oh, here we go. The story of my life.

Long story short, after waiting about 9 hours, I finally got my car toed, fixed and back on the road towards Banff. So much for a day full of hiking in the rockies…. More like a day spent sitting on my ass in Calgary. Oh what bad luck do I have.

Well, either way, I’m now in Banff, stranded again because the highway is closed due to avalanche… go figure, but hey, I’d much rather be stranded here in Banff, then in Calgary. Tomorrow should prove interesting!

Anyways, there’s a road trip gone bad, and wait a minute if I wasn’t ALONE (Mara) I’m sure it would have been much more eventful!

Til next time…… have fun and take care of your cars!

Glens last Snowboard

Well, after a 10 day work week, days off are finally here again. Today we went boarding for Glens last day in town, and he just got here, we’re all kind of mad at him. But anyways, it was a good day at the hill, and I can now say I’ve boarding in my vest in Canada, it was so warm out.

Hockey Game

Staff outing to the WHL Hockey Game… well that turned into laura being the babysitter of the night, why does this always happen to me? The night started out with Wings at far side pub where Me, Jeff, Mara and boss Rob all met up. Then Rob took us to the grocery store to pick up liquer and Tequila (or ti kill ya) was the choice of the night. So on the hour drive to cranbrook with our boss, who’s a COP, we’re drinking open alcohol in the truck…. We found the other staff going ot the game and we played pass and chase on the highway, that was good fun. We had boxed seats for the game, which that means free alcohol at the game. Well at the beginning of second period, it was time to take the juice box away from Mara and go to the bathroom. I guess hot and spicy wings, tequila, fireball and beer just don’t mix in a girls stomach. Thus begins the two hours of me taking care of Mara in the bathroom and then the whole car ride home…..
